Mike Vokey – Capital Exhibition and City of Fredericton dysfunction

We discuss: O’Dell Family agreement with not-for-profit Agricultural Society #34 (The Exhibition Board); legal agreement and promise between Ag. Society #34 and City of Fredericton in 1947; the dysfunction in the recent relationship with the City; examples of positive relationships in other municipalities and results for community; attempts by Ag. Society #34 for improvements and partnerships past seven years stymied by City; relationships with over 40 other volunteer groups; vision for how the Ex. could look in near future; cheaper to invest in the facility than to move it; and, if heritage is important to the City why is The Ex. excluded for preservation.
